  • What is the scope of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM)? What can CHM treat?
    1. Promotes good health and prevent diseases
    2. Treats a wide range of health disorders

CHM is best known for its effectiveness in treating chronic symptoms that were ineffectively or adversely affected by conventional treatments or those not addressed by other health professionals.

    Typical examples include the following:

    • Post-tumor removal care or side effects in cancer chemotherapy or radiotherapy such as anorexia, diarrhea, low WBC count, insomnia, and intolerance to radiation or drugs
    • Digestive disorders such as constipation, diarrhea, bloating
    • Respiratory disorders such as a chronic cough or asthma and shortness of breath
    • Cardiovascular and cerebral disorders such as poor memory, palpitation, chest tightness, dyspnea, dizziness, nausea, TIA, and stroke (early stage)
    • Genitourinary disorders such as dysuria, urinary frequency or incontinence, proteinuria, edema, chronic flank pain or low abdominal pain, and low sperm count
    • Women’s disorders such as irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, PMS, fibroid tumors, and pelvic infections
    • Others issues such as blurred vision, tinnitus, Meniere's syndrome, rhinitis, easier-to-catch colds, fatigue, and so on
  • Why is CHM usually used in a formula?

Because people’s constitutions are different, so are their pathologic changes when they are sick. CHM values and encourages the body’s inherent regulatory and healing ability. Formulas are tailored according to every individual’s body condition and pathologic pattern so that the best treatment result can be reached.

  • Is it safe to take CHM?

Yes! All the herbs are collected from primitive mountain forests without industrial pollution. They are all imported and inspected by the US authorities. Effects of herb formulas prescribed by herbal professionals are usually moderate and are well known for having no or minimal side effects. Patients do not need to discontinue current medications to take CHM.

  • How many visits will I need?

It depends on your health condition. One visit with 3 to 5 doses of herbs may be enough for a simple problem such as flu. Chronic disorders require longer-term treatment. It usually takes 1 or 2 visits a week at the beginning to see how your body responds. Fewer visits will be required afterwards.
